In the previous blog I introduced the article with a conversation with a ChatBot, but what is a ChatBot ?. Well, for those who do not know them, it will surely seem more than interesting. A ChatBot is an Artificial Intelligence system that works through a programmed software to which information has been registered with certain rules and heuristics in such a way that it can interact with a person and provide answers to questions and make it seem like we are talking to a real person.
The first program developed in that line was Eliza by Joseph Weizenbaum. Which was capable of maintaining a quite believable dialogue within the topic of psychiatry (the program asked questions to the patient).
These chatbots are programs that can be on some website, that can be installed locally on a personal computer, some can even work on Instant Messaging systems (IM), such as messenger, and automatically respond to our chat for us when we are not at our computer. Perhaps on more than one occasion my private ChatBot has answered you instead of me and you haven't even noticed!!!
Currently, they have been given various uses, from simply entertainment to real automatons capable of performing tests and diagnostics based on our conversations with people. Existen algunos en español realmente excelentes, con voz, reconocen nombres, recuerdan las charlas anterioriores y con capacidades de asumir algun tipo de personalidad. En uno de los sitios que visité cuando estuve revisando este tema, leí la experiencia de un estudiante que utilizó este tipo de programas dándole una personalidad de psicoterapeuta con el fin de ayudar a las personas con sus respuestas de acuerdo a las respectivas problemáticas. Para probar la calidad que period posible de lograr en la comunicación, lo instaló en un computador donde daba un curso de capacitación sobre el futuro de la psicoterapia, luego hizo pasar a una de las secretarias (quien no estaba en el curso) para que “conversara” con su jefa (quien se encontraba fuera de la ciudad) haciéndole creer que el chatbot era una sala de charla y que su jefa estaba esperando platicar con ella, la secretaría platicó con el robotic largo rato sin darse cuenta que no period su jefa (ya que le dimos la perosonalidad de su jefa), hasta que se le dijo que period parte de una prueba. El robot dejó admirados a los asistentes del curso.
Tambien se han utilizado estos chatbots con fines comerciales en sitios net de empresas donde se presentan estos autómatas atendiendo y respondiendo consultas a los clientes basado en bases de conocimiento especializadas, también pueden ser utilizados para aprender y reforzar idiomas, uno podría estar conversando largamente con un chatbot inglés y así aprovechar de practicar este idioma.
A continuación dejaré algunos links donde se puede conocer mas sobre el tema, pero ademas les voy a presentar a ALICE. ALICE es un chatbot que funciona en messenger, para poder conversar con él sólo hay que agregarlo a lista de contactos, su dirección es alice@
Cuando lo tengan en su lista pueden conversar con ella ( él ?) y preguntar lo que se les ocurra: como estas?, como te llamas?, de donde eres? and many others. Tambien sabe matematicas, así que pueden pedirle calculos matematicos, traducciones de idiomas funciones como de diccionario, dando significados de palabras.

Hello Rodrigo, this is an awesome topic, right, however, since I started reading about this topic in some of our university classes, I wonder, why does man want to create a robot with abilities equal to his? obviously there can be many scientific and economic reasons. But the central issue is that man is still not capable of “humanizing himself” completely and is thinking about creating a machine like himself. how can you humanize a machine if you yourself don’t even know what that is?. Creo que las peliculas de ciencia ficción no estan tan lejos de lo que ocurriria si a las máquinas se les diera inteligencia ya que la humanidad no se puede poner en chips, el amor, la paz, la solidaridad, la emocion de ver la vida germinar en todas partes no se puede “tecnologizar” solo se puede emular, algo parecido a…
Como sabes hay muchos tipos de inteligencia y pienso que los cientificos debieran gastar mas tiempo en solucionar temas “humanos”, un abrazo

¿Acaso te apasiona el tema? Se nota muchísimo. Las tecnologías de la información llegaron para quedarse, estoy de acuerdo. Nuestra imaginación acerca de las aplicaciones posibles se verá superadísima. A lo mejor, precisamente podrán usarse para hacernos más humanos, ya que según el texto de un profesor de nuestra carrera, no pasamos de ser supersimios….. a poco que nos exijan, perdemos el barniz de civilización. Pudiera ser que sea para mejor, dependerá cómo se administre. Sobre la marcha, pienso que es una situación de muy alto riesgo quedarse abajo de este barco…. ser ignorante. Los analfabetos, los no instruidos, los que no se preocupan de si mismos corren riesgos gravísimos de ser abusados en muchas maneras. El asunto es muy complejo. El medio en que estamos, todos alumnos con dedicación y entusiasmo, no es comparable al medio nacional ni mundial. Abro una nueva brecha en la intervención de Marcia… el tema es muy complejo. Una expresión más dura: los analfabetos tienen derecho a voto, of course, eso es democracia. ¿Cuánto de informados están? Noooo, I am not criticizing the system. It is a fact. When we have reached the horizons that Walt Whitman talks about, we will go after new horizons and it will always be like that. Whoever wants to stay at some stage, will die there…. There are too many concerns. Better to live with what we have and marvel every day more. And if some technology allows us to develop our human condition and put us on par with technology, that would be a worthy goal to achieve. The rest are games.
